Shihan Leung was the special guest along with Sensei Guzman, Sensei Parente, and host Sensei Edwin Rodriguez, chief instructor of Gem Shotokan
Shihan Kai Leung was invited to the Grand Opening and special celebration of Gem Shotokan by Sensei Edwin Rodriguez the newly name Shibu-Cho branch chief of Glendale New York.

Shihan Leung painted the ceremonial Daruma Doll for Sensei Rodriguez and wishes him many years of success.
Special Proclamation from the Senator of Glendale New York
Sensei Rodriguez was presented a Proclamation from Mr. Shaaker Bhuiyan the Deputy Chief of Staff for State Senator Serphin R. Maltese of Glendale New York.
Sensei Darryl Parente's Iaido
Sensei Rodriguez invited a few of his friends and special guest to demonstrate for the celebration.
Sensei Darryl Parente of Aiki-jujitsu performed Iaido the art of drawing the Japanese Samurai sword. He explained the meanings of the movements and techniques of the art to the audience.
Sensei George Guzman's Ne-Waza ground techniques
Sensei George Guzman of Longview Academy of Extreme Martial Arts, located in Staten Island NY, came to perform for the audience. He brought his wife and daughter who are also black belts in the martial arts. Sensei Guzman an experience Instructor who holds black belts in many arts including a black belt from Master Miyazaki, taught the students on how to break fall Ukemi and ground techniques Ne-Waza. Sensei Guzman's instruction was enjoyed by everyone.

Since most of the kata performed at the grand opening was Kaishu Open kata. Shihan Leung decided to perform Tensho, one of two Heishu closed Kata of Goju-Ryu Karate.
Tensho Rotating Palm was developed and created by Miyagi Chojun Sensei, founder of Goju-ryu. Miyagi Sensei was influence by the bible of karate the Bubishi. Tensho came from the Six Energy Hand Rokkishu of the Bubishi. The six special hand techniques are Iron Bone Hand, Claw hand, Iron sand palm, Blood pool hand, Sword hand and One blade of grass hand. These hand movements and techniques influence Miyagi Sensei in creating Tensho Kata. The hand techniques found in Tensho is very useful when practicing Kakie push hands.

Shidoin Xavier Lombana performed Enpi kata and assisted Shihan as his Uke receiver in Kakie.
